The Sailor Moon franchise is one of the biggest to ever hit the anime scene. Both the Japanese manga and anime are entitled, "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon." As you can expect,
it's about a pretty soldier named Sailor Moon. There are 18 manga volumes and 200 anime episodes where Usagi Tsukino and the other Sailor Soldiers fight and protect the
Earth. The manga and anime are different in some ways as some stories were altered, however the main concepts are kept in the anime.
Sailor Moon is actually a spin-off of the Codename: Sailor V manga series.
It is split off in to 5 main Arcs/ seasons. The first being the Dark Kingdom saga. The Dark Kingdom saga, or "Negaverse" in the English version, focuses on the awakenings of
the 5 inner senshis (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter & Venus) along with fighting off the Dark Kingdom. The enemy seeks out their innocent prey and steals their energy. They also
appear to be looking for the silver crystal. More mysteries and conflicts occur throughout this great season.
The second season focuses on the Makaiju aliens, Ail & Ann, which was filler for the second season until production of the Black Moon Clan manga was finished. The Black Moon
Clan who are the newest enemies in season 2. This season focuses on the 5 inner senshis once again along with a new character, Chibiusa. The Black Moon Clan are after
Chibiusa and the ginzuishou in order to take over the Earth.
Sailor Moon S, the third Arc/ season, involves the new enemy, the "Death Busters". Some say this is the darkest season, or at least one of the darkest seasons of the series.
The Death Busters are after the three Talismans. This new enemy introduces the new senshis, Sailor Neptune and Uranus and later done Sailor Pluto & Sailor Chibimoon. Also
this is the first appearance of Hotaru Tomoe, Sailor Saturn.
Sailor Moon SuperS, the fourth Arc and season, involves the theme of dreams. The new enemy, the Dead Moon Circus, are attacking people they think have Pegasus in their
dreams. This is because they are after the gold crystal. Pegasus and Super Sailor Chibimoon play a big role in this season.
The final arc and season of Sailor Moon (sadly) is known as Saior Moon SailorStars. In the first part of this arc Nehelenia has returned and gets revenge on Usagi. The next
arc involves the new enemy who is lead by Galaxia. She is after star seeds which would in the end allow her to control the galaxy.
